Dr. Erminia Scarcella, M.D., DLFAPA, Psychiatry-Psychoanalysis earned her degree from the University of Rome, Italy, where she specialized in Neurology and Psychiatry. She moved to the USA and subsequently received her training in Psychiatry at the George Washington University and St. Elizabeth Hospital. She is a Clinical Assistant Professor at The George Washington University School of Medicine and has taught at George Washington University Hospital. E. Scarcella is Chair of International Medical Graduates of the Washington Psychiatric Society (District Branch of the APA), for which she is the founder of the Embassy Disaster Preparedness. She is the President of the Washington Society for Jungian Psychology (JSW). She is a Designated Physician of the Embassy of Italy. She has also been twice the President of American Society of Psychoanalytic Physicians (ASPP, Washington, DC chapter and for years, and she has been for years a Board member of the Consortium for Psychoanalytic Research. Dr. E. Scarcella worked for years at the Veterans Administration Hospital in Washington, DC, and then at Walter Reed Army Medical Center. Dr. E. Scarcella has been in private practice from 1991 and has been working with ALHC from august 2015. She has served in the Army Reserves Medical Corps, where she retired with the rank of Major. She is a Rotary member of International Rotary Club of Washington, DC for many years and has received the high honor of Cavaliere Della Republica of Italy.

Dr. John L. Syphax, M.D. is a Washington, D.C. native who has provided psychiatric care to children, juveniles, and adults in both the District of Columbia and the state of Maryland for over 30 years. Here at Amazing Love Health Services, (ALHS), Dr. Syphax is a psychiatrist, who assures the overall quality of mental health services through generally accepted practices. He serves as one of three psychiatrists at ALHS and does so with professional expertise that he’d gained through his educational experience at Howard University’s College of Medicine. Dr. Syphax is excited to work with ALHS in assisting consumers throughout their treatment plans.

Enrico Suardi, M.D. M.Sc. is board certified in general, child and adolescent, and forensic psychiatry. He specializes in the evaluation and psychopharmacological treatment of mental disorders in children, adolescents, and adults. He performs forensic psychiatric evaluations for adults and juveniles involved in criminal and civil proceedings. He serves as a forensic psychiatrist in the Washington D.C. Department of Behavioral Health and has previously served as a child psychiatrist at the U.S. State Department, Office of Medical Services and at Adventist Behavioral Health. As a child psychiatrist, he has worked in inpatient units for children and adolescents, therapeutic group homes, residential treatment centers, and a juvenile detention center. He specialized in psychiatry at St. Elizabeths Hospital in D.C., child and adolescent psychiatry at the New York Presbyterian Hospital of Columbia and Cornell Universities, where he was a chief fellow, and forensic psychiatry at SUNY Upstate University in Syracuse, NY. He is an assistant clinical professor of psychiatry at Georgetown University and also teaches and supervises trainees from St. Elizabeths Hospital, Walter Reed National Military Medical Center, and George Washington University. He coordinates seminars on family law, child maltreatment, divorce, and custody. He obtained his M.D. and completed a residency in public health and preventive medicine at the University of Milan, Italy. He received an M.Sc. in public health and policy from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine.

Gregory Pretlow, LICSW, GC-C is a native of Virginia, who has provided social services to children and youth in the District of Columbia for more than 30 years. At Amazing Love Health Services (ALHS), Mr. Pretlow serves as a leader in the clinical program serving the adult population for both short and long-term mental health services. Formal education was completed at Norfolk State College (now University), followed by the completion of the social work program at Atlanta University. Early professional experience included working in a community mental health center, a juvenile court system before relocating to Georgia and later Louisiana. Temporarily, Mr. Pretlow has worked in the state of Maryland before settling down in the District of Columbia government. Mr. Pretlow is excited to bring his experience, compassion, and expertise to ensure the consumer needs of District residents are met for the mental health population, here at Amazing Love Health Services.

Angela Tabey is a Licensed Clinician with Amazing Love Health Services with over 5 years of experience in a variety of settings and with diverse clients, including both long-term and brief interventions. Areas of expertise include: adults, geriatrics, youths and families with behavioral and mental health problems, anxiety, depression and a range of other mental health disorders, relationship challenges: couples and families, phase-of-life changes, grief and loss, substance abuse and co-occurring disorders, life stresses and next steps. Mrs. Tabey graduated from the University of Maryland Baltimore (UMB) with a graduate degree in social work (MSW), and an undergraduate Social work degree (BSW) from the University of Maryland Baltimore Campus (UMBC). Mrs. Tabey also earned a minor in Psychology. She holds an Associate degree in Applied Sciences/Mental Health from Montgomery College.
Mrs. Tabey has worked in an array of community settings including but not limited to; a mental health core agencies, youth and family services, mental health association of Montgomery County, nursing homes, residential facilities and private care.  She believes that change happens when people are given the guidance and support they need to draw on their own strengths and realize their full potential to live fulfilling, happy lives in a bid to meet their desired goals. She provides an environment of compassion, empathy and support to help individuals and families overcome obstacles to move forward and thrive. Mrs. Tabey is a member of the National Association of Social Workers (NASW) and a member of several honor societies (Phi Theta Kappa, Golden Key, Tau Sigma, Sigma Alpha Lambda, and Montgomery Women’s Association Award of Excellence).

Lwenyi Nkonko is a clinician, LICSW, with Amazing Love Health Services (ALHS). She holds a master’s degree in Social Work from Howard University and a master’s degree in Social Sciences from the University of Natal, South Africa (now the University of KwaZulu-Natal). Before joining ALHS, she worked for 6 years as a case manager for several private foster care agencies in Maryland and the District of Columbia. Ms. Nkonko is excited to bring her experience, passion, and expertise to ALHS in serving and meeting the mental health needs of District residents.

Pamella Davis is a clinician, LICSW, with Amazing Love Health Services (ALHS) who has garnered over 30 years of experience in her field. In addition to being a clinician, Ms. Davis has also worked in administrative and supervisory capacities. She worked at Department of Behavioral Health (DBH) for many years, holding various positions, and until recently, she was the clinical director for a CORE Services Agency. Ms. Davis also helps guide, teach, and lead by providing cultural competence practice to community support workers and uncredentialed staff in addition to her supervisory role. I like helping other people. Assisting the consumer to maximize their skills and to help them resolve their problems for an effective outcome that can lead to their appreciation of their own quality of life is why we do what we do.

Mrs. Longtchi is a board certified nurse with Registered Nurse Licenses in Washington, DC; Maryland, and New Jersey. She has over 20 years experience as a Pediatric Nurse in private non-profit and public areas. She received her nursing certificate in Cameroon and since then has been practicing nursing in Cameroon and USA. Prior to joining ALHS, she served in various nursing capacities in Cameroon, Maryland, New Jersey, and Washington DC. She is a patient rights advocate with excellent communication and organizational skills. She is a good team player and displays strong leadership skills and has the ability to work under pressure and handle multiple work assignments.
