Sharisse O’BanionAn inspirational leader for organizational growth, improvement, and change with over ten years of experience in the private and public sectors.  Sharisse’s expertise and knowledge have proven effective as a positive change agent to create strategies, improve processes, and procedures. As a contract employee with Caliber, a leading provider of management consulting and information technology solutions serving the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) as a major client, she maximized the career readiness of service members to include Active, Reserve, and Guard through the Military Transition Assistant Program (TAP), Veterans Employment Initiative (VEI), and Veterans Economic Communities Initiative (VECI) in accordance with Presidential mandates and the Veterans’ Opportunity to Work to Hire Heroes Act (VOW Act).  Collaborated with the Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA), Department of Labor (DOL), Department of Defense (DoD), the Small Business Administration (SBA), state- and local officials, and other stakeholders. Sharisse has facilitated briefings at local installations and assisted the VA Office of Economic Opportunity with executing career fairs, job summits, roundtables, panels, and policy academies to boost economic competitiveness for Veterans.  She has reached over 6,000 people through community engagement, exceeding the VA’s performance metric by 152% based on increased participation among Veterans within the Learning Hubs and increased attendance rates at Veteran-focused events.  Sharisse has registered over 100 companies with the VEC™ of which 16,000 committed to hiring Veterans, contributing to the District of Columbia being ranked in the top 3% in the nation in the hiring of Veterans,  and achieved 105% of the VA’s performance metric for Veteran employers.
